I'm Hongske. Twenty-ish, still in love, 'artist', student and bad at writing descriptions. I have the attention span of a hyperactive squirrel on speed.
Theme by me.
Colour challenge meme, part four. This palette was rather challenging, and I’m not sure whether I met the challenge.
(and between schoolwork and real life, I don’t get a lot of time to draw either, sadly enough)
Colour challenge meme, part three. Halfway through now!
Colour challenge meme, part two.
Colour challenge meme, part one.
Done! Finished shading + added a texture by env1ro from DA (you can find the texture here). It’s the first drawing I made in Illustrator since 2008. What do you think of it?
This is one of the reasons why I don’t post that often… I follow a class called “Programming for Mobile Devices” and we’re currently learning how to work with Flash Professional CS5.5. Which means not only knowing how to create a figure and draw a bit, but also coding in Action Script 3. The drawing’s not that difficult, it reminds me of Illustrator, tbh.
The assignment here was to create a small game wherein the user has to move an object through obstacles and reach the finish-line. In the first stage, we had to figure out how to move the object and didn’t have to worry about the obstacles or finish yet.
In the second stage we had to add a time and penalty points counter and code the game so that the object couldn’t move through the obstacles. The user also gained penalty points by hitting the object. Oh, and the complete time spent on the track + the amount of penalty points had to displayed at the end of the game. And the object should stop being able to move at the end of the game.
Finally, in the third stage we had to add a starting screen (which can be closed by pressing enter) and code in an F2 key to reset the game.
So this is my result! I think I’m the only one who drew their own figure, because the rest just looked up an image of an object on Google. Since most of my classmates are boys, there are a lot of games with cars. xD
In a next stage, we’ll have to add a top ten of scores and add more code so that the game can also be played on a mobile device. So that the user will be able to play it by tilting the screen instead of pressing the arrow keys.
Instead of doing my java homework, I was finishing up my drawing:

I affectionately named her “skullgirl”. Finished product:

What do you think of it?

OMG I FINALLY FINISHED IT. I added some patterns, which are courtesy of Cloaks @ DeviantArt and the outfit is inspired by this polyvore from “OMG that dress!”. I don’t think I’ve ever put so much work into a face, so I’m kind of fond of how it came out (even though her eyes are too big and her mouth is small in comparison). OH WELL. Any improvement will be for new drawings, because today’s the contest’s deadline!

Finished it! One of the contest rules was that there was to be a transparent background, so I didn’t work on it (I’ve got another version that actually has a transparent background instead of this blueish colour.

I’ve been subscribed to Illustration Friday’s weekly word thing for a few years now, but this is the first time (that I can remember at least) that I actually drew something for the theme. This week, the prompt was “shadows” and I decided revising could wait an hour (or four)… This is also the first time that I coloured/drew anything this way. xD
Whaddaya think of it?
